Saturday 5th October brought the start of the Salon International 3 day show at ExCel in London.
The event is very popular with the hairdressing industry, and I was pleased to be going once again to see the latest innovations and forthcoming trends. Although some of the hairstyles are a bit wacky, it is always a great place to watch the likes of Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, and Wahl to name just a few, working their magic.
It was a chance to see the arrival of the warmer winter hair shades: the coppers, golds, auburn and the reds but also the ever-popular ash and ice-cold blonde still being very current. The coming trends in haircuts: the textured jawline bob, the heavy grown out fringe, the mid-length hair which has been on trend for a while and still seems as popular as ever.
It was a great day out, and I enjoyed meeting and talking to fellow hairdressers and submerging myself in everything to do with hair for the day.
I also decided to park at the 02 and catch the Emirates cable car across the river Thames to ExCel. What a great way to travel, and it made it so much more fun and was a great way to admire the Docklands area from the air. Those who know me, know I am petrified of flying so it was pushing myself a little out of my comfort zone but do you know what? I actually really enjoyed it!
