mynewhair is the pioneering medical hair loss charity, founded by renowned celebrity hair stylist Trevor Sorbie MBE. The charity provides public advice and supports a national network of independent salons and professionals (including me here at Curlylox!) who provide a wig styling service for people suffering from cancer and medical hair loss.
On Sunday 29 September, at 10.00 am, I took part in a charity dog walk (dubbed ‘Walkies’), led by Trevor, his wife Carole and their King Charles Cavalier – Lisbon. This a one-mile walk was along Gosport’s Stokes Bay Beach promenade to support people suffering hair loss from cancer or alopecia.
Discussing his new charity, Trevor said: “mynewhair isn’t just about hair, it’s psychological medicine for people suffering from hair loss through illness and for many people. It’s the missing link in their treatment. The funds raised by Walkies for mynewhair will help the charity to help those affected by cancer or alopecia across the UK and internationally.”
The pioneering charity supports and trains a network of over 800 independent salons and 1,000 trained hair professionals (one of them is me!) across the UK and Ireland, all providing a wig-customisation service for their clients.
You can donate to Walkies for mynewhair via the charity’s Just Giving page, www.justgiving.com/mynewhair. Donations to the charity can also be made by texting MYNH00 followed by the amount you wish to donate, to 70070.
